Here are the players from the other team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur.
The squad: Danielle Wyatt, Mithali Raj, Meg Lanning, Harmanpreet Kaur (capt), Sophie Devine, Ellyse Perry, Veda Krishnamurthy, Mona Meshram, Pooja Vastrakar, Megan Schutt, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Anuja Patil, Taniya Bhatia (wk)
The New Zealand vice-captain holds the record for the fastest T20I fifty(18 balls) and fastest 70 runs (from 22 balls), and included scoring 32 off one over in the first match against India. She is also a member of New Zealand’s field hockey team. She was the player of the series in the recently concluded series against Windies women. Devine played a massive role in guiding the Strikers to the playoffs this year.
Perry has proven to be the kind of player who is capable of turning any game around, and is one of the biggest superstars the women’s game has produced till date. She is the youngest Australian to play for the national side, the only woman to play both Football and Cricket world cup, unarguably one of the best all-rounders in the world. Recently, she smashed 213* in the Ashes. After the retirement of Cathryn Fitzpatrick, she leads the pace attack of Australia for a long time now.
One of the power-hitters of the Indian team and the third Indian to play in WBBL. She had a double black belt at the age of 12.
At her belligerent best, Veda can be a threat to the best of the bowling attacks and is widely pipped to finish amongst the best finishers India ever produced. She is also the fastest Indian to complete 1000 runs in WODI.
