Joe Root delivered once again when his team was in trouble. His brilliant half-century 54 (36), guided England to a decent target of 155.

Root got rid of Windies openers Johnson Charles and Chris Gayle in the second over of the second innings. 156 seemed to be an easy target for the West Indies, but Root’s double-strike landed a huge blow in the West Indies camp. Windies were reeling at 10 for 2 in 2 overs.

Marlon Samuel’s blistering¬†85 took West Indies close to the finishing line. Samuels, who had a pretty average series in this World T20, showed his brilliance once again in a final.
