Over 106 West Indies 319/10/Yes

So what if we have had an early finish here but there is more cricketing action that you can follow. There is second Ashes Test along with the third and final Test between India and Sri Lanka going on and you can catch all the action just by switching tabs. Until next time, it is goodbye from us! Have a great week ahead, peeps.
So, that is it from us for this game. The Kiwis have ran over the Windies. The tourists have a lot to think about. They will have to regroup and come out well prepared in the next game. The home side on the other hand, will look to inflict a whitewash. Will see a repeated story in the next game or will the Windies pull a rabbit out of the hat? All will be answered in the next game which will be played in Hamilton on the 9th of December 1100 local and (2200 GMT).
New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson says it is a good effort. He feels It was a great test wicket. Credits the bowler for their lines and lengths. Praises Wagner for his bowling in his first innings. Appreciates his batsmen for their effort as that was needed for them to score big. Mentions Blundell was brilliant in his first Test. Admits the Windies did come out fighting and if they could have taken it deep into day 5 it would have been tricky. Finishes by saying adapting is important for the next game as the wicket will be different.
Man of the Match, Neil Wagner says, the wicket got better and better. Feels it got more difficult. Further adds the bowlers bowled really well. Mentions there was no real swing on offer they had to change their plans and it all came off that day. Credits West Indies for their fight shown in the second innings. Admits they had to readjust their plans after yesterday. Opines the Basin is not an easy place to take 20 wickets and the players did really well to bowl the opposition out.
In the second innings it did seem like the West Indies had some fight left in them courtesy a 94-run stand between Brathwaite and Hetmyer, with both scoring half tons before the latter departed. They ended day 3 with only 2 wickets down but lost the plot on day 4 once Kraigg Brathwaite departed on 91. They were bundled out within a session and a half to give the home side a 1-0 lead in the series.
With nothing much on the board they needed early wickets. But that was not the case, as all the New Zealand batsman flourished on a wicket which got better for batting after each passing day. Also wickets on no balls and dropped catches did not help their cause. First it was the Taylor-Nicholls partnership with the former missing out on a ton by 7 runs and then the Gradhomme-Blundell stand with both registering tons. Both scoring their first with the latter doing it on debut took the game away from the visitors as they had taken a 386-run lead.
Earlier in the match, Kane Williamson won the toss on a green wicket and put the away side into bat. Brathwaite and Powell gave an ideal start to the Windies by stitching a 50-run stand but day 1 was all about Neil Wagner, after his introduction West indies went from 59/1 to 134 all out with the left arm pacer picking a 7-fer his career best figure.
A dominating performance from the Kiwis have seen them start off their summer on the right note. They made quick work of the West Indian batting line-up today. With every bowler chipping in at the wickets. Matt Henry was the star for them in this innings as he bagged three wickets, on a surface which was very good for batting. The West Indian batsman had no answer to the bowling of the opposition and hence lost by an innings and 67 runs.
