Over 24 New Zealand 151/2/No

That's all from this match! Rain did try to spoil the 100th ODI game between these two sides but failed. We had a curtailed game and New Zealand came out victorious. Pakistan will feel a little hard done by as they were better placed before the rain interruption. Nevertheless, it is a must-win encounter for them in Dunedin on the 13th of January at 1100 local (2200 GMT previous day). Do join us for all the action. Until then, take care and goodbye.
New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson says, it is a brilliant performance. And it panned out to be an interesting game. Admits 247 could have been a tricky total but Ross and Martin stitched a brilliant partnership after the break to get them across the line. Ends by saying there are elements they can improve on but he is satisfied with their performance.
Sarfraz Ahmed says he is very disappointed with the top order but is pleased with how the lower order played. Suggests the rain is not in their hand and their momentum was very high before the break. Ends by saying they have to work on their batting and he hopes to come out fighting in the next game.
Man of the Match, Martin Guptill says, they got off to a good start. Reckons losing Colin Munro was not ideal but he along with Kane Williamson stitched a good partnership. Admits it is satisfying to win the game after the rain delay. Ends by saying batting with Taylor is something he enjoys.
In the first innings after winning the toss and electing the to bat, Pakistan lost wickets in heaps with Lockie Ferguson being the tormentor-in-chief, bagging a three-fer. Mohammad Hafeez was the only one from the top order who showed some fight with the, experienced campaigner, notching up a fifty. But after his wicket it seemed improbable for Pakistan to cross the 200 run mark. However, Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali had different ideas, they played some counter attacking strokes and stitched a 70 run stand to take Pakistan to a competitive total. Stay tuned for the presentation.
Approximately after a 2 hour delay. New Zealand were given a revised target of 151 in 25 overs which saw them needing 87 in 11 after the break. The Pakistan bowlers did try their best but had no answers to the brutal hitting they received at the hands of Guptill who notched up his 33rd half ton. He was ably supported by Ross Taylor who hit the winning runs.
So after all the waiting due to rain we finally have a winner in this game, New Zealand have absolutely cruised to victory and taken a 2-0 lead in the series. Yes, it had gotten much easier for them once the target was revised but they made a mockery of it. Initially chasing 247 the Kiwis got off to the worst start possible. They lost Munro in the first over to Amir. Williamson and Guptill did manage to steady the ship but just as the game was drifting away from the visitors, Shadab Khan produced a beauty of a catch to dismiss the opposition skipper. Ross Taylor came out next and he along with Guptill started to build another partnership before the rain intervened.
