Over 19 Adelaide Strikers 152/2/No

That's it for the day. Adelaide Strikers sealed the victory with ease and handed yet another defeat to the Melbourne Stars. There is tough competition at the top of the table going ahead in the season. We head to The Gabba, Brisbane, where Brisbane Heat will be hosting Hobart Hurricanes. Catch us at 1840 local (0840 GMT) for another exciting encounter. Till then, goodbye and take care!
On the other hand, defending 151, the visitors never really looked in the game. Their bowling was once again a letdown as they failed to provide breakthroughs at crucial times. Several dropped catches did not really help much to the team's cause. Yet another loss for them and the same story is repeated once again. 5 losses in 5 matches for the Stars, they have to find a way out to break this streak. Earlier in the day, good tight bowling by the hosts coupled with misfiring batsmen from the Stars led to their undoing. Maxwell and Stoinis were the only positives they could take from this match.
A comfortable 8-wicket victory for the hosts to climb up to the top of the table. They made that 152 run target very simple. Going in for the run chase, the openers started off really well in the first six overs. Weatherald made way for his captain, Travis Head, who joined Alex Carey in the middle. With the duo getting to their fifties, they played some good cricketing shot and made it look like a cake walk for them.
18.4
A Zampa to A Carey, SIX! And that's the match! ADELAIDE STRIKERS WIN BY 8 WICKETS! The victory comes in sublime style too as Alex Carey pummels this over the boundary. Sees the full ball in his arc, so he launches it over wide long on and across the fence comfortably.
18.3
A Zampa to C Ingram, ANOTHER DROP! The Melbourne Stars cannot keep a hold of anything today it seems. Colin Ingram looks to smash this fuller ball around off but gets it off the outer half over covers. Coleman runs to get under it, gets his hands to it too, but drops it. Poor. Single taken.
18.2
A Zampa to C Ingram, The batsman has driven it through mid off.
18.1
A Zampa to A Carey, Shortish ball spinning back in, worked away on the leg side for a single.

M Stoinis to C Ingram, Wide! Stoinis fires it way, way outside off. It's across the tramline and that will be a wide.
17.5
M Stoinis to C Ingram, Takes the pace off it again as he bowls it on a length around off, chopped off the inner half on the off side.
17.4
M Stoinis to C Ingram, FOUR! Slower again and fuller in length, Ingram gets low and hammers it over mid on. Nobody out there and that's a boundary.
17.4
M Stoinis to C Ingram, Wide! Bit harsh to be honest. Short but the umpire thinks it's too short. Wide signalled.
17.3
M Stoinis to A Carey, Just short! Low, hard ball towards Dunk. Carey smashes this slower ball towards Dunk at mid off, who dives forward but it falls just short of him. Saves three vital runs for his side though.
17.2
M Stoinis to C Ingram, Sensibly done. Just pushes the fuller ball through to long off and rotates strike.
17.1
M Stoinis to C Ingram, SIX! BANG! That is a huuuuuugggeeeee hit! Short ball, Ingram picks it up early and positions himself to blast this away. Pulls it with all his might and sends it deep into the mid-wicket stands.
