India opted to bat first keeping the conditions on the mind that offered support for the spinners. Mithali went in with one batter short which backfired as England spinners- Hazell and Eccelstone-rattled India. More than England’s bowling, the batters’ poor shot execution and the timing let the team down.

After the brilliant ton in the practice match, Devika Vaidya is yet to score big in this series. She made only 11 today. Mithali was bowled by a beauty from Hazell, and the top-order fell too quickly without major contributions. Mandana, as usual, tried her best to keep India in the game. She added a useful partnership with Deepti Sharma. After Mandana’s departure at 42, Deepti tried to build partnerships with tail-enders but failed to. India managed to score only 113.

The England openers showed no troubles whatsoever. They added 73 at the top, made the chase easy. Bisht picked two wickets for India, but it was too late as England comfortably chased 113 in 30 overs.

The series hangs in balance with one-all now with one match to go.
