Young Kuldeep Yadav has been a revelation for India since his debut in 2017. With 38 wickets in 19 ODIs, the 23-year-old chinaman has become India’s strike bowler in the limited overs format alongside leggie Yuzvendra Chahal. In a recent interview, Kuldeep shared an interesting insight about MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s strategy on the field, stating that the current Indian skipper Kohli does the planning and his predecessor Dhoni gives all the instructions.

Kuldeep, who returned from a very successful tour of South Africa, said,“What we have achieved in South Africa has a lot to do with the way Kohli bhai and Dhoni bhai guide us in the middle. While you can all hear Dhoni bhai constantly guiding us on the stump microphone, it is Kohli bhai who actually plans it all. It is a complete work of two individuals who are brilliant when it comes to first planning and then implementing the plans.”

Further, Kuldeep added that the freedom given by Kohli to go and attack with a ball is what helped him prosper and acknowledges the latter as one who leads by example and his aggression rubs on the entire team. He also added that their side will pull off another good performance there when they travel the next time.

“Credit has been given to us (Kuldeep and Chahal) for taking India home in the limited-overs series, but we couldn’t have been half as effective had it not been for the two senior pros guiding us. You need a skipper who backs you and believes in your ability to shine on the big stage. You think we could have been so successful if Kohli bhai had not given us the freedom to attack? I don’t think so,” says Kuldeep.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep, who will represent Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018, has stated that he is relishing the exciting prospect of bowling to MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli during this year’s tournament.
